your sanctuary
-
perched on the edge of lake Koggala, our villa feels like a sanctuary woven into nature itself.
each room offers comfort and sweeping views of the water or garden. at the heart of the space, an infinity pool melts into the lake horizon, while open-plan living areas, hidden garden nooks and shaded decks invite many slow moments of rest and reflection.
the star of the show is the jungle yoga shala. it rises above the trees, a light-filled space where practice flows to a soundtrack of birdsong by day and crickets by night. the villa is the only purpose-built sanctuary in the area, carrying all the tools you need to delve deep into practice.
around the villa, fruit trees and spice gardens flourish, offering mango, papaya, turmeric and jackfruit that often make their way into our freshly prepared, plant-based meals.
every corner of the villa is designed to nurture — whether through movement, stillness or simply pausing to watch the changing light over the lake. -
travel can be transformative, but it also has an impact on the places we visit. when choosing where to host, it was important to us that sustainability and community care were built into the foundation of the venue.
here, sustainability is part of daily life — the buildings are designed to stay cool naturally and are partly powered by solar energy, while rainwater is captured, treated and reused to nourish the land.
the villa grows much of its own food — mangoes, papayas, herbs and spices — all enriched by compost that turns waste back into nourishment. no green space was sacrificed in construction; instead, living roofs and tree planting have added to the biodiversity and welcomed more wildlife.
waste is handled with care through composting, recycling, and reusable alternatives, with projects extending into the surrounding community to support cleaner and healthier ways of living.
most importantly, your stay also supports the people behind the retreat: the local team are offered fair wages, training and opportunities to grow, creating a workplace that values their wellbeing as much as it does the land.
